How to communicate the message “buy books”. |
| The Complete idiot's guide to improving your IQ is not unsurprisingly a book about increasing your intelligence and deals with the subject of how to be more effective at gaining more knowledge and of course intelligence. On page 59 of the electronic form of this book it states “In your brain everything is connected to something else”. If this statement is true when you or I see things in stores, on the web and in books then we connect them.
Further into the same book on page 251 there is a section entitled “Choose your Passion”. This section begins.. “Whatever you do in life, effective intelligence dictates that you define it clearly. But that's still not enough. You need to be passionate about it” So I changed my connection to a new clear definition of the advertisement. The advertisement message seen on the wall now means get brainy and enjoy life. If this is the true meaning I couldn't help feeling the store missed posters “Feed your stomach” and “Drink Caffine”. All four posters would combine what was so special about this great store. Here of course I made a connection based on feeling an emotions. The message was still buy books. Then I think dam perhaps it just means buy books for you and your love ones. Here I did my best to think with intelligence. The message is still buy books. Words can convey different meanings to different people as they go through different stages in their life, through different thought processes and different moods. The main thing to recognise is that even though these words have meant different things in each scenario the underpinning message of all possible meanings is “buy books”. Some of The complete idiot's guide to improving your IQ by Joyce Wycoff is available to read for free at Google Books, you can also buy it at most book stores or at Amazon. However in case I mislead you I wanted to mention the books you buy don't have to be books by Joyce Wycoff they could be by Seth Godin or any one of your favourite authors. If you buy a book it's a great way to reward the author sharing their stories or knowledge. But Why Choose This Book?: How We Make Decisions What you do with your book once you have read it is very much up to you. Let them gather dust give them to a friend or perhaps you could try an alternative option, sell them on Amazon or Ebay or one of the following; Web Page Last updated: Feb 2008 Note: The above article includes Amazon affiliate links. |
